‘The Batman’ continues to shoot in Liverpool

Warner Bros. The Batman recently resumed production in Liverpool, England after being forced to shut down after actor Robert Pattinson tested positive for coronavirus. Now thanks to a little lax security, we are now able to share with you some of the pics of cast members in character.

Bruce vs. Oswald vs. Selina

St. George’s Hall, which is doubling as Gotham City Hall, has been the setting for cast members Pattinson, who we have really only seen as Bruce Wayne aside from the trailer, a completely unrecognizable Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot (aka The Penguin) and Zoë Kravitz as a stylish Selina Kyle. There is also John Turturro as Carmine Falcone rocking some Catwoman given scars across his face.

But wait, there’s more! Video:

The video was clearly taken from a distance, but if you train your eyes on the top right corner you’ll see see Bruce attempting to weave his way through the crowd before being pushed back by a more physically imposing Penguin than we’ve seen before.

It’s possible Oswald will be introduced as a bodyguard for Carmine Falcone which would somewhat follow the Gotham TV series intro of Penguin as a henchman for Jada Pinckett-Smith’s Fish Mooney.

Batman on Batcycle

Back in February, we saw some images of Pattinson’s stuntman on a Batcycle and now we seem to be back somewhere in this sequence again. Pattinson’s stunt double is donning the iconic costume while Zoe Kravitz’s stand-in is also suiting up for the trip.

If you look closely, you’ll notice that the Batsuit is outfitted with several gadgets, including what appears to be a grappling gun. Yes.

We would guess a Bat-ass chase is about to ensue involving Batsy and Catsy. Have a look below:

It’s hard not to be intrigued by what’s to come in The Batman after seeing photos like these, as Reeves is clearly taking cues from the comic books for his take on these characters.

Last week, Warner Bros. had decided not to take any chance’s with The Batman‘s planned 2021 release, pushing the movie back to March 2022. We know there has been talk of the film’s production coming to Chicago, but we don’t want to whet appetites too much for what is most likely a Second Unit shoot.

The main cast and crew is clearly shooting in England right now and it does feel odd to use Chicago for any part of Gotham in this film. When Reel 360 asked The Chicago Film Office they told us the studio is not releasing any information on the project at this time.  They are not able to confirm anything.

Unless (pure speculation) it’s really a diversion for the CW’s Batwoman.
