This comes straight out of the F*** Around and Find Out files. Teyana Taylor had a tense moment backstage at the 2026 Academy Awards after accusing a security guard of pushing her while she attempted to move through the crowd following the ceremony.
The One Battle After Another actress, who had joined her castmates on stage earlier in the night when the film won Best Picture, was captured in a heated exchange backstage after the broadcast ended. In a video circulating online, Taylor can be heard confronting the man, saying, “You’re a man putting your hands on a female… You’re very rude.”
She repeated the accusation while addressing people nearby. “He put his hands on a female,” Taylor said, adding that the guard had “literally shoved” her while trying to stop her from moving toward the stage.
“Do not touch me, do not shove me, do not push me,” she said during the confrontation.
According to reports, the incident occurred as Taylor was attempting to return to the stage alongside Pam Abdy, co-chair and CEO of Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group. A security guard reportedly blocked access and used his body to prevent them from passing, leading to the exchange. TMZ caught Taylor’s reaction on video. Watch below:
Despite the backstage drama, the night was largely celebratory for the One Battle After Another team. The film took home six Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director for Paul Thomas Anderson, and Best Supporting Actor for Sean Penn.
Taylor had also been nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the film, but lost the award to Amy Madigan, who won for Weapons. Madigan’s victory marked her first Oscar win 40 years after her first nomination for Twice in a Lifetime in 1986.
During her acceptance speech, Madigan praised her fellow nominees, including Taylor. “I also wanted to pay tribute to Elle and Inga, Wunmi and Teyana,” Madigan said. “When I was doing all the Weapons stuff, I was travelling on my own, and people from One Battle and Sinners and all the films gave me a hug and said, ‘Yeah, come on in.’”
The moment underscored the camaraderie among this year’s nominees, even as the night included its share of behind-the-scenes drama.
