The 46th Annual Telly Awards has officially opened its call for entries, embracing the theme “Where Stories Take Shape” to recognize excellence in video and television across all screens.
This year, the awards are introducing several new categories, including Short Films, Limited Series, and Commercials, as well as categories focused on innovative technology, such as “Use of Real-time Rendering” and CTV ads under 15 seconds.
As storytelling continues to evolve with shifts in technology, genre blending, and new formats, the Tellys will highlight the best of traditional and cutting-edge content. Managing Director Amanda Needham emphasized the importance of showcasing this creativity, noting the awards’ role in identifying key industry trends.
“The Tellys has always recognized work across the full industry spectrum, making us uniquely positioned to identify trends taking shape,” shared Needham. “Classic storytelling is rearranging – roles are shifting, genres are blending, and technology is accelerating what is possible, and this season of the Tellys will center categories across film, brand and virtual production centering this in new reality.”
New for this year are the “Production Company of the Year” and “Media Company of the Year” honors, recognizing outstanding contributions from production and media companies separately. Additionally, new judges from top industry names such as Pluto TV, Vox Media, The Martin Agency, and Roku will help determine this year’s winners.
The Telly Awards have also expanded their networking and partnership efforts, adding platforms like Portrait, Kinema, and Seed&Spark to a roster of returning partners. These partnerships aim to create more opportunities for creators and industry professionals to connect through the Telly’s screenings and events in cities like New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
Key deadlines include the early entry cutoff on December 13, 2024, with winners to be announced in May 2025. For more information and to submit, visit www.TellyAwards.com.
