Superman & Lois: Final season production underway

Superman & Lois

The highly anticipated fourth and final season of Superman & Lois has officially entered production, according to star Elizabeth “Bitsie” Tulloch. Despite delays caused by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, the actress shared behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram, offering fans a glimpse of the Kent family’s return.

Tulloch’s Instagram post showcased her reprising her role as Lois Lane alongside Tyler Hoechlin (Clark Kent), Michael Bishop (Jonathan Kent), and Alex Garfin (Jordan Kent). Additionally, she revealed the script for the third episode, titled “Always My Hero,” providing a first look at the upcoming season.

What makes this announcement more intriguing is the revelation that David Giuntoli, known for his role in Grimm and as the voice of Batman in animated movies, will direct the third episode. Giuntoli is also married to Elizabeth Tulloch, adding a familial connection to the production. Take a look below:

The Superman & Lois series, which is not set in the Arrowverse but originated from the Supergirl TV series, defied expectations of cancellation after season 3, given the DCU reboot by DC Studios and James Gunn. Fans will witness one final season, marking the end of an era for DC storytelling on The CW, following the conclusion of The Flash last year.

While the decision to place Superman and Lois in their own reality received a mixed response from fans, the show’s executive producers and co-showrunners, Todd Helbing and Brent Fletcher, expressed gratitude for the journey. The final season promises to deliver a compelling narrative as Superman, Lois, and their allies confront the formidable threat of Lex Luthor.

“While we’re sad to say goodbye to Superman & Lois at the end of Season Four, we’re grateful for the time we’ve had with our amazing cast, crew, VFX teams, editors, musical geniuses, and writers. Since the day this show was first discussed, it was about family. And that’s what was created on and off screen.”

“We’d like to thank our partners at Berlanti Productions, DC, WB and The CW for their endless support and enthusiasm during this journey…and give a very special thank you to all the fans for tuning in. We’re thrilled about what we have in store in our final season, and can’t wait for everyone to watch as Superman, Lois and all our heroes face off against the biggest threat in the show’s history-Lex Luthor.”

Superman & Lois is expected to return to The CW later this year, concluding its run with an exciting and impactful farewell season. Fans can stay updated on Elizabeth Tulloch’s Instagram for more glimpses behind the scenes.
