Playstation Classic is back! Playstation Classic is back!

Playstation-bbh-new-york

I do have a lot of love for Playstation. I remember when my daughters and I bought that With its 32-bit, polygon graphics and classic.

My favorite game was a game that had an amazing story and graphics, but didn’t really get too popular. Ah how I miss you, ‘Primal.’ My daughters each had their own fave as well.

But then we moved into X-Box and never looked back. Now, we did ladder up to a Playstation 2, but never went 3 or 4. I think because of ‘Red Dead Redemption’ and ‘Batman: Arkham Asylum’ we stuck with the box.

But we never lost our love for a PS.

Now PlayStation has announced it is relaunching the console as a smaller reincarnation called the PlayStation Classic, preloaded with 20 classic games.

Glory be!

To promote it, PlayStation, via BBH New York, has retold its origin story inspired by the Big Bang theory and the creation of the universe. The 30-second, animated TV commercial starts in total darkness.

A 32-bit Big Bang spits out pixelated stars and galaxies. We hear the creator’s voice proclaim, “In the beginning there was nothing… and then there was light.” The Chemical Brothers’ track, Block Rockin’ Beats, kicks in. A single-celled organism splits in two before being eaten by a fish, which is snapped up by a pterodactyl, which is gobbled by a T-Rex.

Evolution takes a quick turn as King from Tekken 3 takes out the T-Rex with his signature move. As we evolve through time, more and more gaming characters fight for supremacy before we finish high above a city. As we pan out of a newly-formed planet, it’s suddenly sucked through a vortex, revealing the tagline “Play History. Make History.” Watch below:

Pretty rad, huh? I think I know what I want for Xmas!
