Reel Chicago News server hacked

Chicago
(Reel Chicago website is down)

If you have tried to access the latest in Chicago advertising and film industry news on our sister publication Reel Chicago, you may have seen the beloved industry news outlet is missing.

The server for the Reel Chicago news website (and Reel 360 News to a lesser extent) was attacked by insidious malware over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Publisher Barbara Roche currently has IT specialists working to remove the corrupt files and get our site back online. This is at a great initial expense to us and an ongoing expense for security to block any further attacks.

If you read The Reel, if you rely on us for information, or count on us to help you promote your news, then please consider making a donation, no matter how small, to help us to keep publishing. We operate solely on the support of our loyal advertisers.

It keeps us operating on a very small annual budget. We honestly do not have the capital to keep publishing unless we can get more support from the community we serve. We are asking for the minimum amount that would get us back online. Any additional contribution would be appreciated.

To contribute, please click here.

As far as Chicago industry news goes, Reel 360 News has added a REEL CHICAGO section until our sister outlet is back up and running.

Thank you for your support.
