Okay, that’s confirmed we can all have dinner now. One of the ongoing running gags in the HBO Max hit series Peacemaker, the spinoff series inspired by The Suicide Squad is that Christopher Smith AKA Peacemaker (John Cena) falls for all kinds of silly rumors and conspiracy theories, including the rumor that Aquaman (Jason Momoa) has sex with fish.
In the season finale, after Peacemaker and his merry band of misfits save the world, The Justice League, including two of the current actors of the roles of Aquaman (Momoa) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) show up after the fact.
Peacemaker tells them that they are late as he walks past them and tells Aquaman to “go f**k another fish!”. Aquaman then looks at The Flash and says that he’s sick of that rumor. The Flash replies “it’s not a rumor” and Aquaman retorts “f*ck you, Barry!” as The Flash giggles while Superman (Brad Abramenko) and Wonder Woman (Kimberley von Ilberg) watch.
Speaking with Total Film about the moment, the filmmaker reveals that there’s a whole lot more where that came from, especially when it comes to the humorous exchange between Ezra Miller’s Flash and Jason Momoa’s Aquaman.
“I have tons of stuff I didn’t use,” Gunn says. “Ezra went on – and I’m not kidding – for 16 minutes about Aquaman having sex with fish. It was really funny.”
Gunn went on to say: “I think we’re going to see more connections in some other stuff as we move forward with Peacemaker and other shows at HBO Max. So those (cameos) will keep coming.
“I don’t know if the Justice League is going to show up in every season of Peacemaker; that might be a one-time thing. We’ll see!”
Peacemaker season one is now streaming on HBO Max.
