Patty Jenkins teases ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ poster

In exactly one year from yesterday, Princess Diana, played by Gal Gadot, will return to theaters in Wonder Woman 1984.

While much of the sequel’s plot is currently under wraps, we do know Gal Gadot’s titular heroine will come into conflict with the Soviet Union in the 1980s and face a formidable new adversary named Cheetah played by former SNLer Kristen Wiig.

Much to the dismay of many fanboys and girls Warner Bros. also announced yesterday that they will not be attending SDCC. As many studios have backed off buying advertising time on the Super Bowl, the thinking is they may not need the annual convention, liked they used to, to promote their films anymore.

In past years, Warner Bros. has used its Hall H presentations to hype their biggest blockbusters, including Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Aquaman, Ready Player One, Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

Disney and Marvel bowed out of SDCC 2018 in order to keep their slate and secrets about Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame under wraps.

What seems like it could be a little disappointment control on WB’s part, director Patty Jenkins tweeted out a gorgeous teaser poster of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman for next year’s Wonder Woman 1984.

The poster is big, psychedelic and very rainbow-esque which is timely for Pride month. Diana’s costume is quite different as she is sporting armor made of all gold. This is probably inspired by Wonder Woman’s Golden Eagle armor which she has donned in the comics from time to time. Take a look below:
