Paramount celebrates Tom Cruise’s 61st birthday with epic run

With the first screenings of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One happening in exactly a week, Paramount is celebrating AARP’s Poster Child, Tom Cruise’s 61st birthday by releasing an insane supercut of all of his most badass runs from the Mission: Impossible movies.

We first met IMF ace Ethan Hunt (Cruise) in Brian De Palma’s Mission: Impossible in 1996, and have joined him on each of his adventures through John Woo’s highly-stylized Mission: Impossible II in 2000, J. J. Abrams’ deeply personal Mission: Impossible III in 2006, Brad Bird’s high-flying Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol in 2011, and then, of course, Christopher McQuarrie’s back-to-back masterstrokes Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation in 2015 and Mission: Impossible – Fallout in 2018.

Now, it’s time for the first half of his biggest and darkest Mission yet, Dead Reckoning Part One, which will pit Hunt against the most devastating villain the world has ever faced. The stakes are at an all-time and it’s up to Ethan Hunt and allies, new and old, to find a way to save the day before it’s too late… or allow an extinction-level threat to run amok on the human race.

But for now, let’s enjoy Cruise Control with this 9:44 birthday run set to Lalo Schifrin’s iconic theme:

In addition to Tom Cruise (Ethan Hunt), the cast features Hayley Atwell (Grace), Ving Rhames (Luther Stickell), Simon Pegg (Benji Dunn), Rebecca Ferguson (Ilsa Faust), Vanessa Kirby (Alanna Mitsopolis/White Widow), Esai Morales (Gabriel), Pom Klementieff (Paris), Mariela Garriga (Marie), Henry Czerny (Eugene Kittridge), Shea Whigham (Jasper Briggs), Greg Tarzan Davis (Degas), Charles Parnell, Frederick Schmidt (Zola Mitsopolis), Cary Elwes (Denlinger), Mark Gatiss, Indira Varma, and Rob Delaney.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One lights the fuse in theaters on July 12, 2023; with the follow-up, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two, set to arrive the following year on June 28, 2024 if not delayed by the Writers’ Strike.
