The NFL is going bigger on creators in 2026. The league has launched what it calls its most expansive creator programming yet, bringing in digital storytellers across football, food, fitness, fashion, lifestyle, gaming, comedy, and more to build original content around some of the season’s biggest moments.
The strategy is simple: give creators closer access to the game, then let them tell NFL stories in their own voices.
“The NFL has never been more connected to culture, and creators play an essential role in bringing fans closer to football through authentic storytelling and unique behind-the-scenes perspectives,” said Ian Trombetta, NFL senior vice president of social, influencer and content marketing.
With marquee U.S. events and a record nine international games this season, the league is expanding that creator ecosystem well beyond traditional football media.
Kickoff Weekend put that approach on display across two continents.

Creators including Deestroying and Zach King were tapped to capture the atmosphere around the Seattle Seahawks’ season-opening Super Bowl rematch against the New England Patriots.
The following night, more than 100 creators, influencers and athletes were set to gather at the Melbourne Cricket Ground for the NFL’s first regular-season game in Australia, featuring the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams.
The guest list included G FLIP, Harry Connick Jr., Scotty James, Dannii Minogue, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Claire Kittle, Kristin Juszczyk, Jay Mendoza and Mr. Chuy, with the event also featuring a halftime performance by the Jonas Brothers.
For the league, these activations are less about putting creators on the sidelines for novelty and more about turning them into distribution.
That becomes especially important internationally.
For the Sept. 27 regular-season game in Rio de Janeiro between the Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens, the NFL plans to host a mix of global and Brazilian creators with a combined audience of more than 200 million followers. Participants include Gab Moura, Josh Richards, Tini Younger, Tota, Rakai and Receba.
The goal is to blend football with local culture, fandom, and entertainment rather than simply export the same U.S. content strategy market to market.
One of the biggest returning initiatives is “Creator of the Week,” developed with YouTube and Whalar, part of Accenture Song.
Last season, the program generated more than 86 million views across YouTube and NFL channels. In 2026, it returns with expanded access to teams, players, and gameday experiences, along with more direct club collaboration.
The program will feature 12 creators across multiple clubs, with Zach King kicking things off in Seattle.
“Our partnership with the NFL has redefined how the next generation experiences football,” said Angela Courtin, VP of sports and entertainment marketing at YouTube.
Courtin pointed to “Creator of the Week” and the league’s creator-led flag football games, which most recently drew more than 14 million live views, as evidence of the scale these programs can generate.
This season’s slate includes Jack Mancuso for Lions-Bills, Receba for the NFL Rio game and Chef En Proceso for the Mexico City matchup between the Vikings and 49ers.
The league is also broadening its creator strategy across other platforms.
Its Snapchat Creator program will spotlight two global creators producing season-long NFL content that includes an international game appearance and culminates at Super Bowl LXI.
The NFL is also partnering with female creators and influencers to build content around fan culture, international games, player storytelling, fashion, traditions and football fundamentals.
That lineup includes Morgan Riddle, Cherry Beagles of The 400 Club and emerging creator Allie Anthony.
Another returning piece is the NFL Celebrity Photographer Series, which gives athletes, entertainers and creators credentialed sideline access to shoot games from their own perspective.
Longtime Seahawks fan Joel McHale handled the NFL Kickoff game, while snowboarder Scotty James and actor Sam Corlett were tapped for the league’s first regular-season game in Australia.
Past participants have included Simone Biles, Suni Lee, Method Man, Benson Boone, Kevin Durant and Marshawn Lynch.
The bigger story is how aggressively the NFL is treating creator marketing as part of the core media mix.
These are no longer just social add-ons.
Creators are becoming part of how the league launches games, enters international markets, reaches younger fans, and turns access into content at scale.
For the NFL, the 2026 season isn’t just about who’s on the field.
It’s also about who’s holding the camera.
