The Empire State Building joined the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce wedding celebration Friday night, lighting up blue in honor of the couple’s reported New York ceremony at Madison Square Garden.

The iconic New York landmark appeared to play off the classic bridal tradition of “something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue,” positioning itself as Swift’s “something blue” for the evening.

“Her something blue,” the Empire State Building’s official account posted on X, along with a blue heart emoji and a video of the tower glowing in light blue.

The building’s Tower Lights Calendar also listed Friday’s display as “LIGHT BLUE SPARKLE,” noting that it was “in celebration of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding at Madison Square Garden.”

Blue, in the familiar wedding rhyme, is traditionally associated with love, fidelity and good fortune in marriage.

The lighting came as crowds gathered near Madison Square Garden, where Swift and Kelce were reportedly celebrating with approximately 1,000 guests. Celebrity arrivals included Ed Sheeran and wife Cherry, Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper, and Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner.

According to reports, the celebration was expected to continue into the early morning hours, with performances rumored from Stevie Nicks and Tim McGraw. A Barry White tribute act was also reportedly seen entering the venue, because apparently this wedding had a better lineup than most festivals.

The New York Times also reported that Swift herself was expected to perform during the celebration, with one event worker overheard saying she was preparing for a performance with Stevie Nicks and Paul McCartney.

If true, that’s not a reception. That’s the Super Bowl halftime show with better shoes.
