New trailer for HIM asks: What will you sacrifice for fame?

HIM

From Oscar winner Jordan Peele and Monkeypaw Productions (Get Out, Us, Candyman, Nope) comes HIM, a chilling descent into fame, obsession, and the price of greatness, led by a career-defining dramatic turn from Marlon Wayans.

Tyriq Withers (Atlanta, I Know What You Did Last Summer) stars as Cameron Cade, a rising football phenom whose NFL dreams are shattered after a brutal attack leaves him with a devastating brain injury. When his idol, eight-time championship quarterback Isaiah White (Wayans), offers to train him at his secluded compound with his influencer wife Elsie (Julia Fox), the opportunity feels like salvation. But mentorship soon turns sinister, pulling Cam into a dark psychological game that may cost him far more than his career. Watch the trailer below:

The film also features Tim Heidecker, Jim Jefferies, and feature debuts from MMA fighter Maurice Greene, rapper Guapdad 4000, and Grammy-nominated artist Tierra Whack. Directed by Justin Tipping (Kicks) from a Black List script by Zack Akers & Skip Bronkie, HIM is produced by Ian Cooper, Jordan Peele, Win Rosenfeld, and Jamal M. Watson.

HIM

With HIM, Peele continues to expand the boundaries of horror, blending social commentary with unnerving suspense. Since his groundbreaking debut Get Out (2017), which earned him an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, Peele has become one of the genre’s most distinctive voices.

His sophomore effort, Us (2019), turned the mirror inward with a chilling exploration of identity and duality, while Candyman (2021), which he co-wrote and produced, reimagined a horror classic through a modern lens of racial trauma. Most recently, Nope (2022) fused spectacle and dread in a genre-bending tale of ambition, exploitation, and the price of chasing the impossible.

HIM marks a new chapter in Peele’s growing legacy, a psychological descent that trades supernatural monsters for the predatory nature of ego, idolatry, and the hunger for greatness. With its mix of sports drama, psychological thriller, and horror, the film promises to lure audiences into territory that feels both fresh and unsettling, delivering the kind of layered, conversation-sparking storytelling that has become Peele’s trademark.

HIM hits theaters later this year.
