Marvel Studios’ emotionally-packed and highly anticipated Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is only three weeks away from opening. Now Target has released a new spot that features co-star Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams/Ironheart.

The new creative, which debuted October 16, highlights Target’s educational efforts in support of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) subjects. Over footage of Wakanda, we hear a voiceover provided by Thorne, who says, “Wakanda showed us all that nothing is impossible. So how will you share your brilliance with the world?” We then see footage of Riri working on her armor, screwing together parts and going over suit blueprints with a Target box logo placed in the worktable’s background.

Apparently, you can create your own Ironheart suit from Target. Who knew?

Next, we see Thorne along with co-stars Ka’Miyah Bright and Mike Whaley. The latter plays a father and daughter who are shopping at Target for ideas for her science fair when they meet Williams. Williams shares a few inspiring words with Bright, who enters a school fair for math and sciences and helps her classmates with formulas and answers.

“I loved being a part of this ad promoting such an amazing movie premiere. To work with an amazing brand like Target on something like this is beyond anything I could have dreamed. It is a role come true for me,” Whaley shared.

Much of Ironheart’s role in Wakanda Forever‘s story has yet to be revealed. We assume she will form some sort of bond with Wakanda’s Princess Shuri. The If Beale Street Could Talk star told Empire Magazine, “There couldn’t be a safer runway for Riri to come into her genius and her superherodom than in the world of Wakanda, which is known as being a haven for Black brilliance.”

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, directed by Ryan Coogler and produced by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore, opens in theaters November 11, 2022. Fans counting the days to its release can purchase tickets wherever tickets are sold.

Thorne is still busy filming the Disney+ series’ Ironheart in Atlanta and Chicago.
