The legendary Sir Elton John is the subject of Disney+’s upcoming original documentary, Elton John: Never Too Late, which just released its official trailer. The trailer offers glimpses of John’s prolific career, showing both legendary concert footage and heartfelt moments of reflection as he discusses his path to fame, personal battles, and the transformative impact of his family.
The film will chronicle his journey from the astonishing early days of his 50-year career to preparing for his final North American concert at the Dodger Stadium. Viewers can expect emotionally charged moments as Reginald Dwight opens up about the highs and lows he’s faced, including overcoming adversity, struggles with addiction, and abuse, all of which shaped his journey to becoming a music legend. Ahead of its Disney+ release, Elton John: Never Too Late will enjoy a limited theatrical run beginning November 15 in both the U.S. and the U.K.
The documentary is a Disney Branded Television original, produced by Rocket Entertainment and This Machine Filmworks (a division of Sony Pictures Television). Alongside the direction by R.J. Cutler and David Furnish, the production boasts a strong team of producers, including Cutler, Furnish, and Trevor Smith, with executive producers Elise Pearlstein, Mark Blatty, Luke Lloyd Davies, Rachael Paley, Jane Cha Cutler, and John Battsek lending their talents.
The documentary will premiere on Disney+ on December 13 and promises an intimate exploration of Elton John’s life. Fans can also anticipate a new original song from Elton John as part of the film, adding yet another layer to this in-depth look at the artist’s storied career.
