Networks race into production to salvage TV season

After a six-month hiatus due to strikes led by the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), the television production landscape is back in action.

With the strikes officially coming to an end after agreements were reached between the actors’ guild and the studios, TV series, especially returning broadcast shows, are gearing up for a swift return to production.

As reported by Deadline on Wednesday night, mere minutes after the resolution of the SAG-AFTRA strike, notifications for tentative start dates began flooding TV casts and crews, primarily scheduled for late November and early December.

It seems NBC will get into production first with Night Court. Also, Chicago Fire will begin production on November 27. Other Dick Wolf series Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med will soon follow.
