Modern Post expands NYC Headquarters

Bicoastal creative editing and post-production studio, Modern Post, has significantly expanded its New York City headquarters, doubling its square footage by adding an additional floor and undergoing a comprehensive renovation to meet the changing demands of clients and employees.

This expansion follows closely on the heels of the studio’s recent move to Los Angeles, where it established a new space in downtown Santa Monica near the beach. The revitalized headquarters embodies the company’s collaborative culture and reflects its artistic and high-quality approach to the craft.

Charlyn Derrick, Managing Partner and Executive Producer at Modern Post, expressed, “Our team has been extremely motivated to work together in the studio again. It was important to us that we provided them with spaces that not only are comfortable but allow them to move with ease between in-person collaboration with colleagues and clients to virtual meetings and calls.”

The newly renovated headquarters, located in Manhattan’s SOHO district, was reimagined by the prestigious architecture and design firm Uli Wagner Design Lab. Renowned for its work with luxury retail clients such as Calvin Klein, Proenza Schouler, Aluzarra, and Agnona, as well as sophisticated office spaces, Uli Wagner Design Lab has previously collaborated with Modern Post on their original studio in 2017 and their recent Santa Monica office.

The design concept prioritizes a minimal yet inviting and warm aesthetic, with a strong focus on creating spaces that foster creativity and adaptability. Look below:

Key features of the renovated space include stunning solid wood tables for collaborative use, an exquisite Austrian chair, and a sleek black stairway connecting the 3rd and 4th floors in a visually striking manner.

The layout of both floors has been extensively redesigned to accommodate new hybrid working models, seamlessly transitioning from elegantly designed sitting areas to private meeting spaces with custom room dividers from the Italian furniture brand Roooom. Look below:

Uli Wagner, the design mastermind behind the project, shared, “Modern Post is a tastemaker in their space, so it was essential to design a space that reflected the elevated aesthetic in all of their work. While many companies are looking to optimize and condense their spaces, not only has Modern Post expanded, but their space continues to be full and smartly utilized.”
