Miley Cyrus drops visual album on Disney+ and Hulu

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus is bringing the drama, the vocals, and the fantasy to your screen this week with the release of her visual album Miley Cyrus: Something Beautiful. The full-length film premiered on Disney+ and Hulu in the U.S. on July 16, with a global rollout on Disney+ continuing on July 16 in Canada and on July 30 across EMEA, LATAM, and APAC.

The visually lush pop opera marks another chapter in Cyrus’ evolving creative relationship with Disney, her former home on Hannah Montana, and the network that recently honored her as a Disney Legend. This time, she returns as the director, star, and co-producer of a stylized fantasy world built around 13 new original songs. Watch the trailer below:

Produced by Cyrus, XYZ Films, and Panos Cosmatos in collaboration with Sony Music Vision, Columbia Records, and Live Nation, the film boasts directorial contributions from Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter, with acclaimed cinematographer Benoît Debie (Euphoria, Enter the Void) behind the lens.

Something Beautiful made its world premiere on June 6 at the Tribeca Festival, followed by a one-night-only theatrical release in the U.S. and Canada on June 12 that sold out screenings in major cities.

The project blurs the line between music video and cinematic experience, infusing Cyrus’ signature style with surreal, operatic visuals. It’s a full-circle moment—and one that cements her status not just as a pop icon, but as a boundary-pushing auteur.

Whether you’re in it for the music, the visuals, or the nostalgia, Miley Cyrus: Something Beautiful promises to live up to its name.
