Lucie Bourdeu joins Biscuit Filmworks’ global directing roster

Lucie Bordeu

Biscuit Filmworks has added rising French director Lucie Bourdeu to its global roster, expanding the company’s rapidly growing bench of cinematic and comedy-driven talent. Known for blending precise craft with visual wit, Bourdeu brings a distinct sensibility shaped by her deep affection for genre filmmaking.

Bourdeu arrives at Biscuit following a standout year on the awards circuit. Her short film for the Valentin Haüy Association, L’Anniversaire De Trop, which she both directed and edited, earned a Cannes Lions Film Gold and a Clio Award. The darkly comic social satire cemented her reputation as a filmmaker who can fuse bold style with emotional impact.

Her recent Burger King France work, created with Buzzman, has further amplified that momentum. One film – a tightly choreographed one-take ASMR spot – is currently running on television and in theaters.

Another, made in partnership with Association Papillons for France’s Anti-Bullying Day, quickly became a viral force, surpassing 10 million views on TikTok in under a week. Burger King donated proceeds from all King Junior meals to support the organisation’s mission.

Born and raised in Paris, Bourdeu began as a teen actress before studying film at ESRA and Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. Her combined background in performance and editing has shaped her precision in guiding actors and crafting story.

In addition to commercial work, she has directed music videos for artists across the French Pop and Punk scenes and is completing a documentary on the erotic-burlesque troupe Fantasma Erotica Circus.

“When I saw L’Anniversaire De Trop earlier this year, I knew I needed to meet Lucie immediately,” said Rupert Reynolds-MacLean, Managing Director of Biscuit Filmworks UK. “I love her performance-based comedy direction, her dark humour, and her incredible eye for art direction. We’re thrilled to welcome her to the roster and excited to get to work.”

“I’m thrilled to join Biscuit,” said Bourdeu. “Their bold, creative vision truly reflects mine, both in cinema and advertising. I share their human-centered approach, which I deeply value. I’m excited to collaborate on projects that push boundaries, take creative risks, and connect to people worldwide.”

Reel 360 News wishes Lucie the best of luck at Biscuit.
