Lexus partnered with Wong Fu Productions to celebrate Lunar New Year and the Year of the Rabbit in a short skit featuring Philip Wang, one of the founders of Wong Fu, along with his wife Helen Wu, one of the founders of podcast Asian Boss Girl, in the first-ever Lexus RZ.
The Lexus campaign, which also includes Digital and Social creative, centers around a popular Chinese proverb, 開門見喜 “Open the door to happiness,” as Phil and Helen open a trunk full of Lunar New Year goodies to take to their own celebration. The question is, can they take everything in one trip? Watch below:
The video was shot and produced by Wong Fu Productions, a popular Youtube channel founded by three AAPI creators (Philip Wang, Ted Fu, Wesley Chan), that has grown to have over 3.27M subscribers on Youtube. They are well known in the AAPI community as one of the pioneers of Youtube content creation, as well as an inspiration and springboard for many of today’s AAPI creators.
The video is also posted on Lexus’s Instagram channel (@lexususa), and features their first-ever all-electric vehicle, the Lexus RZ, to add to their electrified lineup.
