Was it only five seasons?

It feels like Leslie Jones has been a standout part of Saturday Night Live for more than five seasons.

The comedienne, who just appeared live at Chicago’s Vic Theater, announced she is leaving Saturday Night Live before the sketch show begins its 45th season.

This according to the Associated Press.

Jones began as a writer on the show in early 2014 and was promoted to a cast member for the 2014-2015 season. She stood out during her appearances on the recurring bit “Weekend Update” and became a favorite for her spot-on impersonations of Whoopi Goldberg, Omarosa Manigault Newman and Oprah Winfrey.

She also became known for hilarious nicknames for Colin Jost – “Flat White Privilege Latte.” “Little Salty Oyster Cracker.”

While starring on SNL, the star also appeared in the female-led Ghostbusters, which saw the female stars, especially Jones, attacked on Twitter. Her Ghostbuster co-star, Kate McKinnon, famous for her spot-on portrayals of Hillary Clinton and Jeff Sessions, will return to the show for her eighth season.

Jones will be extremely busy as she leaves 30 Rock. She will host a hour-long Netflix stand-up special, which is set to launch in 2020. She recently lent her voice to The Angry Birds Movie 2 and has reportedly been in talks to appear in Eddie Murphy’s Coming to America sequel.

Speaking of Murphy, who looks to be on a comeback, the veteran comedian will be hosting SNL for the first time since 1984 on December 21. Woody Harrelson, who stars in the Zombieland sequel, Zombieland: Double Tap, will host the series premiere on September 28 with musical guest, Billie Eilish.

Jones leaves behind a lot to remember. Reel 360 wishes her the best of luck.
