Last of Us, Bear, Apple among DGA noms in TV, Commercials and Docs

The Directors Guild of America (DGA) has unveiled the nominees for the Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Television, Commercials, and Documentary categories for 2023. The winners will be announced at the 76th Annual DGA Awards on February 10, 2024, at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.

The competition in the Dramatic Series category is fierce, with directors Peter Hoar from The Last of Us and multiple directors from different episodes of Succession, including Becky Martin, Mark Mylod, Andrij Parekh, and the duo Robert Pulcini & Shari Springer Berman.

In the Comedy Series category, the contenders are Erica Dunton for Ted Lasso, Bill Hader for “Barry,” Declan Lowney for another episode of Ted Lasso, Christopher Storer for “Fishes” episode from The Bear, and Ramy Youssef for another episode of The Bear, “Honeydew.”

It’s an exciting lineup, reflecting the diverse and high-quality directing talent in both dramatic and comedic television series. The DGA Awards promise to be a thrilling event with such accomplished directors in the running.
