John Travolta is a “scrub” in T-Mobile spot

T-Mobile
(l-r: Faison, Travolta, Braff)

This T-Mobile spot is the one that we want. The one that we want. Ooh-ooh-ooh, honey! The wireless provider is cashing in on nostalgia for its new Super Bowl Commercial, and once again, you’re sure to see some familiar faces. John Travolta (Pulp Fiction, Face/Off, Hair Spray) is joined by Scrubs’ alums Zach Braff and Donald Faison, in a one-minute commercial that advertises T-Mobile’s 5-G Internet.

The three do a deep dive into one of Travolta’s iconic movies — Grease.

Travolta has starred in a number of memorable roles, including Look Who’s Talking, and Saturday Night Fever, but the actor is probably most famous for Grease. The beloved musical where Travolta starred alongside the late Olivia Newton-John produced hits like Summer Nights and You’re the One That I Want.

In the spot, which serves as a lovely tribute to Newton-John, Travolta breaks into the duet Summer Nights from Grease. He’s quickly joined by Braff and Faison, who are best known for their roles of JD and Turk in Scrubs. The trio sings about the service’s pluses, such as no taxes, fees or an annual contract. Newton-John died six months ago after a long battle with cancer. Travolta remembered his longtime friend in a sweet social media post.

“My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better,” Travolta wrote on Instagram. “Your impact was incredible. I love you so much. We will see you down the road and we will all be together again. Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever!”

The Super Bowl, featuring The Philadelphia Eagles vs. The Kansas City Chiefs, will kick off Sunday, February 12 at 6:30 EST/5:30 CST/3:30 PST.
