Jenn Johnson joins Cadence Films as EP

Award-winning U.S. and France-based live-action production company Cadence Films has brought on Executive Producer Jenn Johnson.

Working closely alongside Founder/EP Lorenzo Ragionieri, Jenn’s keen creative eye and extensive background in sales and talent representation will further Cadence’s mission: to bring bold, moving ideas to life.

“I’m beyond excited to add Jenn to our team, and know she’ll push us to make our best work,” said Lorenzo, who co-founded Cadence Films in 2014. “As a fellow entrepreneur, I’m drawn to her self-starting spirit and appetite for growth.”

Jenn’s career includes a variety of prominent, high-impact positions, including President/Lead Sales at her own talent representation company, Open Season; Executive Producer and Head of Sales at the New York-based music production company Music and Strategy; and most recently, as a partner at talent representation firm Hustle. There she had the opportunity to work with some of the most respected directors working today, including Michel Gondry, Martin Krejci, Antoine Bardou-Jacquet, Hannah Lux Davis, Drew Kirsch, and The Bobbsey Twins. 

While at Hustle, Jenn connected with Lorenzo through mutual friends at the talent placement firm ARC. When she dove into the roster, Jenn felt an instinctual pull to Cadence Films, which is driven by a team of best-in-class producers with expertise in advertising, fashion, music videos, and entertainment. Given Jenn’s self-motivated nature and undeniable enthusiasm for making things happen, the pairing was simpatico from the start. 

“Immediately I had so much excitement and passion for the directors and the company,” said Jenn. “I could see my next five years pretty clearly, building on Cadence’s existing equity and expanding it with my specific background and network.”

Alongside her experience in bringing compelling stories to life on-screen, Jenn’s considerable background in sales, including tenures repping for RadicalMedia and B-Reel Films, gives her the tools to nurture rewarding relationships with creative stakeholders. It’s a winning combination that sets her up to approach this next chapter as an Executive Producer and to expand the reach and impact of Cadence’s groundbreaking and stylistically diverse work. 

“This is a relationships business, and Jenn has the track record and trust of some of the best directors and agencies in the industry,” said Lorenzo. “In a space that gets more crowded by the year, we need someone who will tirelessly champion our work, and elevate our profile. We’re fortunate to have Jenn in that role.”

As she comes aboard, Jenn is particularly looking forward to leaning on her 15+ years of experience to better serve Cadence Film’s visionaries and support them in making premier work that expands audiences’ understanding of the genre.

“I’m looking forward to cultivating fresh opportunities for our filmmakers to make highly creative work,” said Jenn. “Repping certainly taught me how to turn over every rock, follow every lead, and dream big for my client. The chance to do this with a laser-focus on one specific roster is such a rewarding experience and one that I’ve been craving to take on.”
