Gallegos United “Got” Webby noms for “Got Milk”

(A People’s Voice Award for Gallegos United)

Last month, the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences (IADAS) announced the nominees for The 24th Annual Webby Awards dubbed “Webbys From Home” by event organizers.  LA’s independent agency Gallegos United, earned three nominations for their California Milk Processor Board “Got Milk” campaign.

The Webby Awards received nearly 13,000 entries from 50 states and 70 countries worldwide. From the thousands of global entries submitted, fewer than 10% were selected as nominees.

Called, “Wrestler” the spot features claymation style animation as a milk carton and a bottle of tabasco sauce go at it to demonstrate that milk can always take the spice out of spicy. Watch below:

In the second spot, “Alebrijes,” a man is kept awake by annoying sheep, until he drinks milk, reminding us a glass before bed can help us sleep better.

“A Webby Award nomination makes you tingle, just a little, cause you know you’ve struck a cord with the audience.  Starts with a bold client willing to take creative swings, and talented creators and makers willing to put in the work.  Honored to be nominated,”  Harry Lowell, Head of Production for Gallegos United  told Reel 360.

Webby Nominees are selected by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. Members include  GE CMO Linda Boff, 360i President Abbey Klaassen, The Martin Agency CEO Kristen Cavallo, JPMorgan Chase CMO Kristen Lemkau, Framestore Co-founder and Global Head of VR Christine Cattano, Apple VP of Marcom Integration Nick Law, Mother’s Executive Creative Director Ana Balarin, Target CMO Rick Gomez, and Publics Sapient Chief Experience Officer John Maeda. They also select a Webby Winner in each category.

“Without the Internet, we would all be lost right now. It’s the most powerful tool for us to support and uplift one another, and it’s no surprise that this year’s Advertising Nominees are the brands, agencies, and media that are creating powerful work to do just that,” said Claire Graves, Executive Director of The Webby Awards.

Winners for WFH: Webbys From Home will be announced on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, and celebrated with an Internet celebration. Fans can watch special moments, and hallmark 5-Word Speeches from all the Winners on Tuesday, May 19.
