Spirit Airlines has tapped actor Frankie Muniz, best known for his role in the early 2000s sitcom Malcolm in the Middle, to promote its new “Go Comfy” travel option.
Muniz stars in the airline’s playful #NotInTheMiddle campaign, created by Tombras, showcasing the perks of Spirit’s upgraded travel experience, which includes a guaranteed blocked middle seat, priority boarding, one checked and one carry-on bag, and complimentary snacks and drinks.
The new creative aims to highlight Spirit’s recent enhancements by offering a more comfortable travel option while maintaining the low-cost benefits the airline is known for. Muniz’s involvement adds a fun twist to the campaign, playing off his famous “middle child” character, with a nod to the fact that he’s now enjoying aisle or window seats instead of being stuck in the middle. Rana Ghosh, Senior VP at Spirit Airlines, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “This creative is part of our continued investment in telling our story and generating more awareness about the great products and value that Spirit offers.”

In conjunction with the campaign launch, Spirit is running a social media giveaway, offering travelers a chance to win 10 pairs of Go Comfy tickets. Participants can enter by following Spirit Airlines on Instagram and engaging with the campaign post.
The #NotInTheMiddle campaign highlights Spirit’s commitment to enhancing customer experiences while still offering affordable travel. The promotion runs through October 25, 2024.
