After appearing as Playboy ‘s Miss March in 2011, Playmate Ashley Mattingly led a troubled life riddled with substance abuse battles. Sadly, the model finally succumbed and took her life at the age of 33.

According to TMZ, Mattingly was found unresponsive on Friday night after a friend called the Austin Police Department for a wellness check because she was not responding to messages. The model apparently left a suicide note and the police took the note as part of their investigation.

Mattingly’s twin siblings, brother Billy and sister Christy, announced the tragic news of her passing on social media this weekend.

‘I love you and will miss you everyday,’ Christy Mattingly Deweese wrote on Facebook on Sunday. “Fly high sister, I know you are the most gorgeous angel in heaven!”

The ex-Playmate’s family told the gossip site she had struggled with substance abuse and alcoholism, but was trying to get her life in order.

Her ex argued after his arrest that Mattingly had grabbed his cell phone and he was reaching to retrieve it. After spending two months in jail, he pleaded no contest to a charge of domestic battery and was sentenced to probation, counseling and a fine.

In 2016, Mattingly was charged with DUI counts after crashing a golf cart into cars.

The model eventually settled in Austin about two years ago, and in recent months had adopted a golden retriever puppy named Miss Jean to keep her company. The dog is now staying with relatives.
