First look at Ruby Rose as the CW’s Batwoman

DCTV and the CW continue to kick the DCEU’s ass. Yeah, I said it.

While it’s not clear how this photo leaked online in advance, fans of the Arrowverse can now get a glimpse of Orange is the New Black’s Ruby Rose as she dons the cowl and cape as Kate Kane, aka Batwoman.

What do we think?

I think it rocks. The costume is pretty comic book accurate, right down to the pale skin and red lipstick. Rose looks like she’s just stepped out of Gotham and it’s hard to imagine fans finding fault with this version of the lgbt superhero. The design on the cape is lovely, to boot.

And Boom! Check out Wayne Tower in the background! Just in case you know if you were wondering if this Batwoman is a part of the Bat fam.

Although I was hoping for good friend Ashley Platz to nail the role, it is hard to argue that Rose does not look the part. She does.

This year’s crossover, which will include Supergirl, The Flash, and Green Arrow, is titled “Elseworlds,” and will see the heroes heading to Gotham City. In addition to Rose’s Batwoman, “Elseworlds” will see the return of Tyler Hoechlin as Superman and introduce Jeremy Davies as Arkham Asylum Dr. John Deegan and Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane.

The three-day crossover event will cause a few shakeups to The CW’s regular schedule. The Flash, which usually airs on Tuesdays, will kick off the three-night crossover on Sunday, Dec. 9, followed by Arrow on its regular Monday night, and then Supergirl — which airs on Sundays this season — in a special slot on Tuesday.
