Fate of Superman & Lois revealed

Superman & Lois

Yesterday, DC Studios Co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran, held a private press event to discuss the upcoming projects for the DC Universe. It is an enormous plan that will unify the film, TV, animation and gaming divisions. Not only did we get a peek at their 8 to 10-year plan, but we also learned the fate of some of the remaining DC shows currently on TV. One of those is Superman & Lois which has been a critical and ratings success for the CW.

The two when asked answered the show is expected to continue for “one to two more seasons.” Gunn added, “It’s a show everybody likes, so it’s going to keep going for a little bit.”

The two were also asked about the fate of the upcoming CW series Gotham Knights, which debuts on March 14. Neither had an answer or comment.

In this YA series, Batman is dead, and a powder keg has ignited Gotham City without the Dark Knight to protect it.

In the wake of his murder, his adopted son Turner Hayes (what about Damian?) is framed for his killing. With the charismatic and hard-charging District Attorney Harvey Dent and the GCPD hot on his trail, Turner must rely on allies including his best friend and formidable coder Stephanie Brown, and unlikely Batman sidekick Carrie Kelley.

However, they soon learn there is a larger, more nefarious force at work within Gotham City. This team of mismatched fugitives must band together to become its next generation of saviors known as the Gotham Knights. The trailers have looked cheap and quite frankly, lame.

REELated:

Superman & Lois will drop its third season on March 14. The series stars Tyler Hoechlin, who was introduced as Kara’s cousin on Supergirl, and Bitsie Tulloch in the title roles, with Michael Bishop and Alex Garfin playing their twin sons Jonathan and Jordan Kent respectively. Jordan Elsass had played Jonathan in Seasons 1 and 2. The show originally debuted in 2021.

Superman & Lois and Gotham Knights are the last remaining DC shows on The CW. The Flash, starring Grant Gustin.

The CW, since being bought by Nexstar, has made it clear they are moving out of the scripted and superhero business.
