In a holiday campaign that merges the magic of Christmas with the excitement of basketball, NBA stars, including LeBron James, Steph Curry, and Joel Embiid, are transformed into miniature action figures breaking out of gift boxes for a lively living-room game.

Titled “The Gift of Game,” the campaign is a collaborative effort between the NBA and Translation LLC, offering a unique and festive take on the holiday spirit.

Directed by Dave Scanlon and featuring a blend of live-action and animation by Passion Pictures, the campaign is now streaming across all NBA platforms. The creative execution captures the imagination of viewers as the basketball stars come to life in the form of toys, creating an enchanting and playful narrative.



The campaign includes additional ads, such as one depicting Nikola Jokić taking a game of “horse” a bit too seriously, and another showcasing Kevin Durant and Luka Dončić comparing their basketball kicks. The star-studded lineup of NBA players, including Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jimmy Butler, Jalen Brunson, Anthony Davis, and Jayson Tatum, join the festive fun.

Beyond the whimsical portrayal of the players as toys, the campaign serves to promote the NBA’s lineup of games scheduled for Christmas day. By infusing the holiday season with the passion and energy of basketball, “The Gift of Game” aims to captivate audiences and celebrate the joy of both the festive period and the beloved sport.
