Even with the devastating effects the novel Coronavirus COVID-19 has had on the American people and its economy, that is not stopping a number of brave souls from medical professionals and first responders to truck drivers and grocery clerks from doing what they do. Sir Elton John, wants to show his appreciation for these dedicated workers by hosting a televised benefit concert to show his support.
The commercial-free hour-long special, dubbed “Fox Presents the iHeart Living Room Concert for America,” will air at 6 p.m. PST (9 p.m. EST) on FOX on Sunday, March 29 and will also be broadcast on iHeartMedia radio stations as well.
Singer-songwriters including Alicia Keys, the Backstreet Boys, Billie Eilish, Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, Mariah Carey and Tim McGraw will also make appearances from their homes and be included via clips filmed with their personal cell phones, camera and audio equipment, a release from Fox revealed.
Today Fox also announced Camila Cabello, Dave Grohl, H.E.R. and Sam Smith, Lizzo, Ciara, Demi Lovato and Seattle Seahawk QB Russell Wilson will appear as well.
In addition to featuring music, the concert will pay tribute to the front line health professionals, first responders and local heroes who are putting their lives in harm’s way to help their neighbors and fight the spread of the virus.
Elton will also encourage viewers to support two of the many charitable organizations helping victims and first responders during the pandemic: Feeding America® and First Responders Children’s Foundation.
To extend the reach of the commercial-free special’s charitable component, FOX will offer the event across all of its linear and digital platforms.
