Editor Troy Charbonnet joins Modern Post

Troy Charbonnet Modern Post

Creative editor and visual storyteller Troy Charbonnet has officially joined the roster at Modern Post, bringing a signature style shaped by rhythm, emotion, and an instinctive feel for how picture and sound collide to elevate narrative.

His portfolio spans advertising, music, and culture-forward filmmaking, with standout collaborations for Apple, Spotify, Mercedes-Benz, Adidas, and Nike. Charbonnet also has deep roots in the music world, most notably editing Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak, and Silk Sonic’s Leave the Door Open, which earned the MTV VMA for Best Editing.

“We’ve been following Troy’s work for a while; he has consistently proven that he is able to tap into his creative approach and bring a unique perspective and understanding to each project. As soon as we connected, it was clear that he would be a perfect fit for our growing roster. We’re thrilled to have him on board and excited to see where his talent will lead,” says Modern Post Executive Producer Andrew Illson.

Charbonnet’s arrival strengthens Modern Post’s commitment to cultivating a roster defined by innovative, rising creative voices. His editorial range includes Harry Styles’ Love On Tour, Forever, a concert-driven love letter to fans, as well as projects for Sabrina Carpenter, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Tems, Tate McRae, and others — each shaped by his intuitive grasp of pacing, emotion, and musicality.

A native of Irvine, California, Charbonnet began experimenting early with stop-motion, shorts, and DIY music videos, developing a foundational understanding of movement, rhythm, and performance. After earning his BFA in Film Production from Chapman University, he began editing professionally in 2017 and has since carved out a multidisciplinary body of work rooted in both experimentation and precision.

“Modern Post stood out to me because of its roster of editors, people whose work has inspired me for some time. There’s a real sense of innovation, experimentation, and youthful energy in everything they create. The culture feels collaborative and humble, and that community-driven spirit was a huge draw for me,” Charbonnet says.

Reel 360 News wishes Troy the best of luck in this next chapter.
