Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: Watch the first trailer

Strange
(Dr. Strange will have a multiverse of problems)

Marvel just keeps the hits coming. If you haven’t seen Spider-Man: No Way Home yet, (check out our 11 spectacular moments from the film here) you missed – SPOILER ALERT – the second post-credits scene, which truth be told, isn’t really a scene. It was more of a collection of scenes from the first trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The trailer has now been officially released, and it’s pretty mad. But what else would you expect from Evil Dead, Drag Me to Hell and Spider-Man 1-3 director Sam Raimi?

Here, we see Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) dealing with the aftermath of Spider-Man: No Way Home, and possibly the ending of Disney+ series Loki.

The Master of the Mystic Arts pays a visit to Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) to ask for her help. Wanda has gone into hiding since the events of WandaVision. It’s then followed by a montage of scenes that feature various creatures and villains, including a one-eyed beast resembling Shuma-Gorath (but is more likely a version of Gargantos), and an evil Variant of Doctor Strange himself we first met in What If…?.

The trailer also gives us glimpses of Benedict Wong as Wong, Rachel McAdams as Dr. Christine Palmer, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo, and Xochitl Gomez as the debuting America Chavez. Watch below:

REELated: Spider-Man webs up the box office record books

Marvel has also released the first of a multiverse of posters for the film:

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to hit theaters on May 6, 2022.
