This is news the Daily Bugle’s editor J. Jonah Jameson would hate to report.

But the Reel 360 is not.

In fact, we are so happy we could swing around the city. After a very public airing of dirty laundry, Disney/Marvel and Sony announced this morning that they have come to terms over Spider-Man.

Thwap!

That means that Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios will produce at least one more Spider-man film set in the MCU.

“I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it,” the Marvel Studios President says in a press release.

“Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold.”

In other words, it sounds like we should expect Peter Parker to appear in the Spider-Verse too! Looking at you, Venom 2.

It has also been confirmed in the press release announcing the news that, “As part of the arrangement, Spider-Man will also appear in a future Marvel Studios film.”

Longtime Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal has also weighed in on the arrangement. “This is terrific. Peter Parker’s story took a dramatic turn in Far From Home and I could not be happier we will all be working together as we see where his journey goes,” she says. “This has been a winning partnership for the studios, the franchise and the fans and I’m overjoyed it will continue.”

Scanning Marvel’s Phase 4 slate, it’s hard to guess what other film Spidey could appear in. Most likely it will be Dr. Strange in the Multi-verse of Madness.

The next Spider-Man film is scheduled for a July, 2021 release.
