Dallas-based filmmaker and photographer Stewart Cohen is expanding his presence in the stock media space with two major acquisitions under his licensing company, SuperStock.
Cohen—best known for his commercial work through SC Pictures with clients like American Airlines, AT&T, Coca-Cola, Four Seasons, and Frito-Lay—announced this week that SuperStock has acquired View Pictures, the UK’s premier architectural photography archive, and Danita Delimont Stock Photography, a Washington-based company known for its rich travel and nature imagery.
This marks the latest chapter in SuperStock’s rapid expansion, which began when Cohen acquired the company in 2019. It follows earlier acquisitions of Canada’s leading image library, All Canada Photos (2023), and the iconic Classic Stock collection (2024).
Cohen, a longtime advocate for image licensing, recalls getting an early start in the space when Getty Images reached out to him after purchasing their first footage library. “They knew I was doing combo live action and still shoots,” Cohen says. “Getty had fantastic analysts and was seeing trends before the ad agencies. With this growing network of complementary houses, we’re bringing a more informed perspective to the marketplace.”
The deal with View Pictures was sealed at the Standard Hotel in London last week, where Cohen and the View Pictures team celebrated with local photographers over a rooftop toast. “As the son of an architect, I understand the importance of this collection,” Cohen said at the event. “We want to grow it and make it more relevant on both sides of the Atlantic.”
View Pictures CEO Susan Bockelmann added, “SuperStock will bring a boost of energy and renewal to our collection.”
Regarding the acquisition of Danita Delimont Stock Photography, the move reunites two longtime lovers of travel. For Delimont, a trip to the Amazon launched a decades-long career in stock photography, both as an agency founder and as a respected industry leader with organizations such as ASPP, NANPA, and PACA.
“I am delighted that SuperStock, a company that truly understands and respects photography and the visual media industry, will be taking our company forward,” Delimont said. “They bring both global reach and a deep appreciation for contributors and their work, making them the perfect home for our collection.”
With these new additions, SuperStock continues to evolve into a licensing powerhouse that balances global access with niche expertise—and a photographer’s eye for what sells.
