LA-based creative agency SixTwentySix has welcomed filmmaker Marysia Makowska to its roster of talented creatives. This collaboration marks Makowska’s first representation in the United States.
Makowska’s creative journey has been extraordinary, starting in Legionowo, Poland, where she grew up. She studied industrial design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and began her career in advertising as an art director in Warsaw and Cape Town. She later transitioned to becoming a director after moving to New York City.
Her work is characterized by a keen eye for detail and an ability to capture the essence of her subjects, resulting in visually stunning and emotionally resonant storytelling. She has worked with renowned brands like McDonald’s, Puma, Pepsi, Kate Spade NY, and Volkswagen, among others. Her storytelling often focuses on women, female empowerment, and the LGBTQ+ community, with a dedication to narratives that evoke genuine emotions and empower people to be themselves.
Makowska’s style combines naturalistic performances with stylized art direction and dream-like set designs, creating extraordinary cinematic experiences from ordinary moments. She also ventures into more documentary-style work, drawn to projects with an idealistic core.
Marysia Makowska expresses her excitement about joining SixTwentySix, praising the agency’s collective of diverse creators and the fresh energy brought by Austin and Jake, the agency’s partners.
