A highly sought-after artist and filmmaker, Marshall gained prominence for his Webby-winning documentary honoring George Floyd. His decision to sign with Wild Gift, founded by David Mitchell and Tomer DeVito, marks a significant collaboration in the world of dynamic storytelling.

“Julian is a volcanic force,” remarked David Mitchell, the visionary behind Wild Gift. “His mastery lies in crafting stunning visuals and compelling narratives that capture life’s beauty, joy, and drama. His ability to portray wonder is unparalleled, whether he’s orchestrating automotive campaigns, sports content, lifestyle features, or projects with social impact. We’re thrilled to welcome Julian to the Wild Gift family.”

Currently based in New York City, Marshall’s creative journey began in Washington DC, where he honed his skills in the skateboarding world at Freedom Plaza. His early experiences with a Hi-8 camera ignited a passion for filmmaking, which led him to produce captivating skate videos. Additionally, Marshall’s diverse interests encompass snowboarding, hockey, and his ardent support for the Washington Capitals. His work resonates with his love for sports, cars, and his hands-on approach to cutting-edge technology.

Reflecting on his filmmaking philosophy, Marshall shared, “I’m a very hands-on, technical filmmaker. I love the idea that you learn the entirety of the craft, then can speak a very direct language with everyone you’re collaborating with.”

Marshall expressed his enthusiasm for joining Wild Gift, underscoring the alignment of creative vision and values with the company’s founders. “Our personalities clicked,” he noted, referring to his connection with David Mitchell and Tomer DeVito. “So much of my ad work has come from building community and I’m excited to continue this momentum with Wild Gift.”

While Marshall’s work naturally conveys certain themes, his core objective remains centered on eliciting emotions. “Everything stems from that. What am I trying to say? How am I trying to say it? And how is it going to make people feel? Everything else flows from there. I strive for emotional immersion, making the viewer a participant in the story,” he added.

Julian Marshall’s collaboration with Wild Gift promises to herald a new era of compelling storytelling, bridging the gap between artistic expression and impactful narratives.
