Award-winning production company m ss ng p eces has officially welcomed directing duo Nick & Charles back to its roster for commercials and branded content. The pair initially joined the company in 2018, building a reputation for sharp comedy and inventive storytelling across video and experiential formats. After a string of successful recent collaborations, they’re once again making m ss ng p eces their creative home.
Nick & Charles first cut their teeth at Funny or Die, working under comedy icons Will Ferrell and Adam McKay. There, they created dozens of original and branded pieces — most famously the cult-favorite sketch Don Cheadle as Captain Planet and the viral HUVR Tech hoverboard prank.
Since then, their credits have spanned Comedy Central, Adult Swim, ABC, and IFC, with highlights including The Eric Andre Show and Borat Subsequent Moviefilm. This year, Nick Corirossi’s feature debut The Napa Boys will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, with TIFF hailing it as “one of the most berserk alt-comedies to ever play” the fest.
Their collaborations with m ss ng p eces have leaned into non-traditional formats like livestreams, live events, and influencer-driven variety shows. Standout work includes Kaytee’s Small in Show mockumentary short for Droga5 starring Rainn Wilson, Google’s Pixel 9 “After Party” livestream hosted by Keke Palmer, and the satirical short KEEPLE.AI. T
his piece digitally resurrected “life-challenged” celebrities like James Gandolfini and John Lennon as spokesmen, landing on New York Magazine’s list of best comedy sketches of 2024.
“We’re beyond excited to be back in the fold with such a cutting-edge and collaborative company,” said Nick & Charles. “There really is no ‘i’ in M ss ng P eces.”
Kate Oppenheim, managing partner at m ss ng p eces, added: “Everyone who’s worked with Nick & Charles knows their craft, wit, and instincts — but mostly they just remember laughing. Their path from sketch comedy to commercials to features is exactly the kind of versatility that today’s creative landscape demands.”
