Dietz & Watson team to support the Eagles

Dietz
(Go Eagles!)

The Philadelphia Eagles are in the Playoffs with a 14-3 record and a bye! Philadelphia Iggles Fans can never have too much fuel for their fandom, and a typical frank won’t cut it this time around, so Dietz & Watson is introducing Philadelphia to the Eagles very own special frank, The Bird Dog.

With a little extra Philly kick, the delicious recipe consists of either Dietz & Watson Beef Frank or Jalapeno Cheddar Frank, topped with provolone, crunchy fried onions and long hots, and nestled into an Eagles-green bun, crafted by Cacia’s Bakery.

Dietz & Watson has been Philly proud since 1939. They’re born and bred in Philadelphia, and the fabric of the city is woven into the DNA of the company. For over 80 years they’ve been making premium meats and cheese the right way, even if it’s the hard way. As an official partner of the Philadelphia Eagles, they want to do more than just cheer along with the legions of fans in the city… they want to feed them.

“Our company has proudly been rooted in Philadelphia for over 80 years, so we are thrilled to celebrate an exciting football season with our neighbors across our hometown the best way we know how: good eats! As an official Eagles Partner, we knew we had to go big on tried-and-true Philly flavor. We look forward to seeing everyone in our community join us in celebration. Go Birds!” notes Lauren Eni Canseco, EVP Brand Strategy at Dietz & Watson

Developed by long-term partner, Red Tettemer O’Connell + Partners (RTO+P), the Bird Dogs activation will be supported on social media, through Instagram, Twitter and Tiktok with shared images and videos from the events, along with alerting fans as to where the Bird Dogs truck will park next, as the Eagles fly through their wins.

The campaign launched in the Philadelphia area, D&W’s ‘backyard’ on social media today, January 10th, on Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat and Twitter.

This campaign will carry on as long as the Eagles continue their season, with their branded Bird Dogs food truck visiting different PhIladelphia neighborhoods throughout the playoffs handing out free Bird Dogs, as well as themed apparel.

REELated:

“Like Dietz & Watson, we’re Birds fans through and through. And the only thing better than cheering is cheering with a belly full of Dietz & Watson Bird Dogs,” said Steve Red, President & Co-Chief Creative Officer of RTO+P. “This is the first time Dietz has created a recipe in honor of the Birds. And we’re stoked to give them away all over Philly to rev up the fanaticals. Get ready to grease the light posts on Broad Street and Go Birds!”

The deeper into the playoffs the Eagles go, the more Bird Dogs there will be. If they make it to the NFC Championship game, D&W will host a Bird Dog’s rally prior to kick-off, and a sponsored watch party if they make it to the Super Bowl.
