DDB, State Farm kick off spot with Aaron Rodgers

NY-based Droga5 helped Chicago-based YMCA launch its first nationwide advertising campaign in history

Yeah, yeah, I know it’s not fall. Yet. But when football kicks off how can you not start thinking about either heading out to your favorite bar or sitting on your couch, cracking open a cold one and watching The Bears?

Then again, if the Bears play like last season you might want to consider a different team. And for this week’s RAW the team over at DDB and State Farm is a good team to get behind.

They have joined up, yet again, with Packer QB Aaron Rodgers for another fun spot which makes it into this week’s RAW.

Titled “Together,” the new :30 second spot debuts this Sunday, September 10th (my birthday) and features Rodgers and his dog recalling the memories they’ve shared together after Clay has a mishap with a drone and Aaron’s truck.

The spot is a part of “Here to Help Life Go Right” communications platform. According to Associate Director of Agency Communications, DDB, Christie Griesmaier, the new football work demonstrates that State Farm understands they aren’t just insuring consumers’ things; they are protecting people’s most treasured possessions.

State Farm’s 2017 Football work will also run across online video platforms, social media, display, national terrestrial and streaming radio, and will be supported with onsite activations and digital and broadcast sponsorships.

Even if you’re not a Packers fan, you can’t really resist Rodgers’ easy nature and “homey” comedic ability. Director Erich Joiner of Tool of North America, makes Rodgers feel like that neighbor everyone wants. And of course, there is his dog! The spot is charming, approachable, very much made for a Sunday afternoon of cheering… and crying if you’re a Bears fan.

It’s RAW.
