This has been a big week for commercial director Courtney Hoffman. Earlier we reported on her first-ever global campaign for WhatsApp and now word comes she has joined RadicalMedia for US representation.
After leaving a prestigious career in Costume Design (Baby Driver, The Hateful Eight, Captain Fantastic, and several Superbowl commercials), Courtney Hoffman wrote and directed her debut short film The Good Time Girls starring Laura Dern.
The short’s wide acclaim impressed Steven Spielberg, who met with Courtney and hired her to direct the assassin film Ruthless for Dreamworks Studios.
Courtney then sold and wrote The Sisters of Scott County, her original 1970s Moonshine and Trucking movie, to JJ Abrams and Bad Robot, which she is set to direct this year. On the television front, Courtney is currently creating original shows for FX, Sony and NBC Universal.
Hoffman’s former career is immortalized on screen as she portrays the Costume Designer in a scene with Leonardo DiCaprio in Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood.
Reel 360 wishes Courtney the best of luck at RadicalMedia.
