Cannes Lions: Alex Morgan joins Chase Champions

Alex Morgan Chase

Deep Blue Sports + Entertainment made waves Wednesday with a major announcement aboard its Women’s Sports Yacht Club: soccer icon and entrepreneur Alex Morgan is the newest face of Chase Champions, part of JPMorgan Chase’s growing investment in the women’s sports economy.

Unveiled during a fireside chat with JPMorgan Chase CMO Carla Hassan, the partnership signals a deeper strategic alignment between Chase and Morgan—one that goes beyond traditional sponsorship.

“We’re intentional about our talent partnerships,” said Hassan. “We invest in the player and the person. Alex reflects our brand’s tradition of excellence—not just as an athlete, but as an investor, business owner, and mentor to the next generation.”

Morgan, who helped launch and plays for the NWSL’s San Diego Wave, is also an investor in Unrivaled, a new 3-on-3 women’s basketball league. Her focus now: long-term impact.

“When conversations began with JPMorgan Chase, the thrust quickly became about more than an endorsement,” Morgan said. “We’re building a platform focused on shared values and long-term impact—through a mutual commitment to helping women rise.”

As part of the collaboration, Chase is providing financial advice, portfolio building, and access to broader business opportunities, from strategic insights to storytelling.

The announcement reinforces Chase’s broader push into the women’s sports economy, not just as a sponsor, but as a committed ecosystem partner with talent at the center.
