Bullitt’s Wright creates ’17-20′ for Shelter Shorts

Staying safe doesn’t mean you shouldn’t create. In fact, creativity can make a difference. Bullitt director Anderson Wright is part of Shelter Shorts, an initiative that encourages people to make short films using what you have in your shelter as part of a fundraiser for World Central Kitchen.

World Central Kitchen is a non-profit run by celebrity chef José Andrés, devoted to providing meals in the wake of natural disasters. They’re currently providing millions of meals to those affected by COVID-19.

Anderson Wright

Wright is a Clio-winning director known for capturing ignited real-life moments in commercials, music videos, documentaries and short films. He first made his mark with viral online work, including a spot for Duet Display that garnered over twenty four million views and an Arian Foster-inspired short film, Where We Dwell, which Snapchat licensed and released on their Discover platform during the 2015 Super Bowl.

Anderson’s since gone on to direct major commercials for global brands like Samsung, Equinox, Western Union and Dove.

His 17-20 was inspired by moments he has collected with his iPhone over the last few years. Weaving these moments together became a meditation on stillness and vibrancy, solitude and company.

“I’m intrigued by static images that feature just a tiny bit of movement somewhere within the frame, so any time I saw a person, vehicle, or light source moving in the distance against an expansive wide vista, I’d grab the shot,” Wright explains.
