College football is back, and so is Bud Light with a campaign that blends tradition, comedy, and ice-cold refreshment. Actor and comedian Shane Gillis returns for his second season with the brand, starring in a new spot called Vendor Voices, while Bud Light also revives its fan-favorite college team cans for 28 schools nationwide.
In Vendor Voices, co-written by Gillis and his longtime creative partner John McKeever (who also directed), the comic plays a die-hard fan struggling to flag down a vendor in the middle of a packed stadium. The back-and-forth shouting builds into a laugh-out-loud sequence before Gillis finally gets what he came for: a Bud Light. Watch below:
“This was a fun one for John and I to make together,” Gillis said of the spot, which will run in :15 and :30 formats all season across ABC, NBC, ESPN and FOX, along with Bud Light and Gillis’ social channels.
Beyond the laughs, Bud Light is fueling fan pride with its limited-edition College Team Cans, styled in full school colors, logos, and jersey-inspired stripes. The cans are already rolling out in participating markets, offering fans a game-day staple whether they’re tailgating, at the bar, or watching at home.
The campaign, created by Anomaly, also raises the stakes with sweepstakes and live activations. Through October 15, fans 21+ can scan QR codes on team cans or in-store displays for chances to win Fanatics gift cards, tickets to a college game of their choice, or even a meet-and-greet with Gillis himself. Bud Light will also host bar takeovers with its Football Face-Off Tournament, where fans can compete for Super Bowl tickets, plus live events featuring former players and brand partners Taylor Lewan and Will Compton of Bussin’ With The Boys.
“Shane is a true football fan and a great friend of Bud Light,” said Todd Allen, SVP Marketing, Bud Light. “It was a no-brainer to bring him back to co-create this season’s campaign and turn up the laughs for fans once again. Because at the end of the day, there’s no better way to spend game day than with friends and an ice-cold Bud Light.”
With new creative, returning traditions, and big fan prizes, Bud Light is once again staking its claim as college football’s most loyal sideline companion.
