71 year old New Jersey music icon Bruce Springsteen is facing DUI charges.

TMZ was first to report the November arrest of the New Jersey native. News of the arrest surfaced just days after Springsteen was featured in a Super Bowl commercial for Jeep.

Springsteen was arrested Nov. 14 at Gateway National Recreation Area, in Sandy Hook NJ, according to the National Park Service. Springsteen was cited for driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and consuming alcohol in a closed area.

According to the Asbury Park Press, a source claims that Springsteen’s blood alcohol content was well below the legal limit of .08, blowing just .02.

The park is on a narrow, beach-ringed peninsula, with views across a bay to New York City. It is about 15 miles north of Asbury Park, New Jersey.

The Boss will have a court appearance through Federal Court in Newark as the Gateway National Recreation Area is federal land.

Springsteen, a Freehold native who lives in Colts Neck, was cooperative throughout the arrest and has no prior DUIs, traffic or parking tickets or other charges in New Jersey listed in municipal court records.

Since news of his DUI arrest broke, Jeep has removed it’s two-minute film “The Middle,’’ from it’s social media sites.
