BK and McDonald’s kiss and make up in new Pride ad

I was recently told that, “sometimes love isn’t enough.” But maybe love can conquer all… at least when it comes to the Burger Wars. During Helsinki Pride, perennial number two Burger King declared their love for McDonald’s with a new painting ‘Love conquers all.’ The mural features The Burger King kissing the iconic Ronald McDonald.

Burger King Finland’s campaign ‘Love conquers all’ is a celebration of love and all the forms it takes.

“Burger King has always stood for equality, love and everyone’s right to be just the way they are. The only instance where it might not seem so, is when we’re bantering with our competitor. But we want to be clear – it all stems from the respect we have for them. And we know McDonald’s stands for the values we stand for, too,” states Burger King Finland’s brand manager Kaisa Kasila.

“The idea behind the painting sprung from our desire to celebrate love in all forms. We thought, what a better way to convey our values than by portraying an all-encompassing kiss between Burger King and McDonald. We wanted to show that in the end, love always wins,” adds Kasila.

Created by TBWA\Helsinki, the kiss and makeup advertising can be seen outdoors and in print all around Finland during Helsinki Pride Week.

As for the person who told me, “love isn’t enough.” Maybe, just maybe it is.
