Prime Video is set to open its 2024 Thursday Night Football schedule with a thrilling AFC East showdown between the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills. The game, featuring quarterbacks Tua Tagovailoa and Josh Allen, will take place on September 12, marking the start of Prime Video’s third season of exclusive NFL coverage.

Jay Marine, vice president and global head of sports and ads at Prime Video, made the announcement during Amazon’s inaugural 2024 Upfront presentation at Pier 36 in New York City. “We’re thrilled to announce that we are kicking off our third season of Thursday Night Football with a huge AFC East matchup, the Miami Dolphins hosting the Buffalo Bills. Two of the top quarterbacks in the game, with two of the top offenses in the league,” Marine said.

The 2024 Prime Video NFL schedule will begin with a preseason matchup in late August, followed by the regular season opener on September 12. This season, Prime Video will provide live NFL coverage for six months, culminating in the NFL Wild Card Playoff game.

The full 2024-2025 NFL schedule will be released on May 15. During the presentation, TNF’s Charissa Thompson, Tony Gonzalez, and Ryan Fitzpatrick joined Marine on stage for the announcement.

Reflecting on the 2023 season, Thursday Night Football (TNF) on Prime Video saw a +24% increase in viewership compared to the previous year. The audience was, on average, seven years younger and watched more games compared to traditional linear networks. TNF’s pregame and postgame shows also experienced significant viewership gains.

The TNF production team received 11 Sports Emmy nominations for its 2023 coverage, including Outstanding Digital Innovation, Outstanding Interactive Experience, and Outstanding Personality nods for sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung and features reporter Taylor Rooks.

Viewers in the U.S. can watch Thursday Night Football games on Prime Video via connected televisions, streaming media players, set-top boxes using the Prime Video app, mobile devices via the NFL+ app, or streaming online on Amazon.

Each game also streams live on Twitch and is available on over-the-air TV stations in the home markets of the competing teams, as well as in Spanish on Prime Video. Coverage begins each Thursday with TNF Tonight at 7:00 p.m. EDT.
