In recognition of Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, ShowBiz Direct and Republic Pictures have released a powerful new trailer for Bau, Artist at War, Sean McNamara’s upcoming historical drama starring Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild, Milk) and Inbar Lavi (Lucifer, Imposters).
Bau, Artist at War tells the inspiring true story of Joseph Bau (Hirsch), a Holocaust survivor whose artistic talents and skill as a forger helped save lives inside Nazi concentration camps. Amid the horror, Bau found not only a way to survive but also love, through his bond with fellow prisoner Rebecca (Lavi).
The film, based on Bau’s memoir, boasts a strong ensemble cast including Yan Tual (Outlander), Adam Tsekhman (Legends of Tomorrow), Josh Zuckerman (School Spirits), Edward Foy, Chris Cope, Josh Blacker, Eugene Lipinski, Dalias Blake, Pam Kearns, and Tori Griffith.
The new trailer features the film’s official theme song, “However Long Forever Is,” performed by indie pop artist Ryn Kid. The emotional track was written by Kid alongside Andrew Furze and John Coda, and captures the spirit of resilience and hope at the heart of Joseph Bau’s incredible true story.
