Anya Taylor-Joy to play Furiosa in Mad Max sequel

(Anya Taylor-Joy takes on iconic role of Furiosa)

Mad Max: Fury Road‘s Furiosa is getting a make-over. Like a whole new person makeover.  Acclaimed director George Miller has confirmed that he is planning a Furiosa-centric prequel that will focus on a younger Furiosa before she became the one-armed warrior for Immortan Joe’s Imperator. Deadline reports that the talented Anya Taylor-Joy (The New Mutants, Split) will take on the role created by Charlize Theron.

Taylor-Joy will join Chris Hemsworth (Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Endgame) and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Watchmen, Aquaman). Take a look at the original trailer below:

No details on Hemsworth or Abdul Mateen’s characters have been revealed yet, but chatter says The Watchmen breakout star will play a villain named Dementus. He is described as “breathtakingly handsome with an angel’s face, scarred by a deep forehead wound stitched together with shiny chrome staples.”

That’s some look.

Mille is currently filming Three Thousand Years of Longing and is expected to prep the sequel shortly after. The project is said to be in advance development.
