Bound to get White Supremacists, Project 2025 founders and even Clarence and Ginny Thomas in an uproar, we now have a Black Captain America. And Anthony Mackie looks amazing. Marvel Studios has just released the first teaser trailer for Captain America: Brave New World, offering a glimpse of Sam Wilson’s latest adventure.

The trailer begins with a high-stakes meeting at the White House, where Sam confronts the newly-elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross. This marks Harrison Ford’s debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, taking over a role previously played by the late William Hurt.

Sam and Ross share a complicated past: as Secretary of State, Ross was responsible for arresting Sam and his fellow Avengers during Captain America: Civil War. Now, as president, Ross wants to collaborate with Sam and make Captain America an official military position.

However, their fragile alliance is threatened when Sam gets caught up in an international incident, with retired super-soldier Isaiah Bradley (Carl Lumbly) becoming the prime suspect. Sam’s investigation leads to a perilous chase, culminating in a tense showdown and a hint at the emergence of Red Hulk.

The trailer also reintroduces some familiar faces: Danny Ramirez returns as Joaquin Torres, who now dons the Falcon wings previously worn by Sam. Tim Blake Nelson also reprises his role as Samuel Sterns, AKA The Leader, making his first appearance since 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. Watch below:

Along with the trailer, Marvel has also unveiled a new poster for the film.

At the end of the divisive Marvel series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Sam posed a thought-provoking question during an end-of-series eloquent speech – will the MCU, but more importantly, movie audiences accept him as the new Cap. “Even now I feel it, the stares, the judgment. No blonde hair or blue eyes…”

We believe in you, Sam and Anthony. And we are rooting for Brave New World.

New additions to the cast include Shira Haas as Ruth Bat-Seraph, a former Black Widow turned high-ranking U.S. government official who has President Ross’s trust. Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, and Xosha Roquemore also join the cast.

Directed by Julius Onah and produced by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore, the film also features executive producers Louis D’Esposito and Charles Newirth.

Captain America: Brave New World opens in theaters on February 14, 2025.
