72andSunny asks “What’s Your Venmo?” in new campaign

72andSunny LA has launched its first campaign for Venmo, introducing “What’s Your Venmo?” to spotlight the app’s growing suite of financial products.

This campaign marks Venmo’s first collaboration with 72andSunny LA and includes a media partnership with Group M to maximize its reach. By targeting younger, digitally savvy consumers, Venmo hopes to solidify its status as the go-to financial app for the next generation.

The new campaign celebrates the everyday moments that Venmo has become a part of, positioning the platform as more than just a peer-to-peer (P2P) payment tool and emphasizing its debit card, direct deposit features, and business profiles.

The creative arrives as Venmo focuses on monetization and aims for future growth. With over 60 million monthly active accounts, the PayPal brand is already a leader in P2P payments, but the campaign seeks to raise awareness of lesser-known offerings such as the Venmo debit card and the ability to pay with Venmo on mobile apps and retailer sites.

Recent growth in these areas has been promising, with PayPal reporting a 30% increase in monthly actives for both the Venmo debit card and Pay with Venmo services. Watch below:

The ‘What’s Your Venmo?’ campaign will roll out across various platforms, including streaming/CTV, digital video, audio, social media, influencers, and out-of-home ads in cities like New York, Los Angeles, and Dallas.

These efforts aim to reach Venmo’s core demographic of affluent Gen Z users, highlighting new features such as Split and Groups, which enhance the social and financial engagement of its users.
